Several aspects to film distribution

Logistics of film

- The company that supplies the actual cinema with the film reel
- They must meet all laws and regulations regarding the film
- The logistics make agreements with the cinema concerning the transportation of the film reels
- The distributor handles 35MM film print ( Around £1000 )
- The production team of the movie rents out the film-prints who rent them out to cinemas
- A working title movie such as THIS IS ENGLAND may only print a small out out due to budget issues, thus reflecting on the overall success of the movie

Prints And Advertising
- Specialized films - smaller advertisement
- Mainstream films - larger advertisement
- Standard poster - 30 x 40 cm ( the most effective format )
- Adverts shown in prime time t.v
- Takes 50% of the films budget
- Pre releases create more hype
- Some movies rely on viral marketing more than others

Digital Distribution
- Movies maybe downloaded into the consumers home
- May give better quality sound
- Quite expensive, but will reduce in price
- Reduces transport costs
- May put cinemas out of business

Vertical integration
Eg:/ Working title would produce, promote films them selfs to generate higher profits and would keep all the processes within the one company
